So my mom came into town 3 weeks ago this weekend and she brought be a bunch of perennial flowers to put into my new flower bed. It has been so fun to watch them grow! Unfortunately I think that I am watering some flowers too much and others not enough. How are you supposed to know? (My mom must be a plant in another life since I have never seen her over or under water her flowers) Here are some pics.
This first one is a plant called Solomen Seal. It is awesome - look at the growth in 3 weeks!
This was about 4 days after we planted then.

This was this past Wednesday...

The plant in the middle of the next pictures is struggling but the others are doing really good.

This plant is called bleeding heart.

We have also started our garden but the only thing the that is in there is cabbage plants...I am going to try and plant on Monday but like I can promise that!
This past Thurs through Saturday I was in San Diego for a work meeting. They put us up in incredible hotels! In the evening your bed gets turned down they put out slippers for you to wear. I am stay at the lodge at torrey pines which is right on the famous torrey pines golf course. I am not so hot at golfing so I walked up to the Torrey Pines State park and went down to the beach and hiked to different spots in the park. I sat on the beach and read my book for a couple hours. It was perfect!

I thought this picture was cool, you can see the spines on the cactus, the spinder, and the beautiful flower on the cactus.

I wish I could do that everyday - I would take either part - being on the beach or reading a book. How does life get so busy that you can't/don't do the things that you love/want to do? It is funny that the most important thing for you to do, exercise (even if you don't like it), is always the first thing to go if things get busy (especially if you don't like it:). I wish I could ride my bike everyday....
